Almost Identical #1

Almost Identical #1

By Lin Oliver

I really enjoyed this book. It is an amazing book about two twin sisters who are each others best friends, start to drift away from each other. It is a great story because sometimes twins can't always be the exact same. There are intense parts to this book, and calm and shocking parts to this book. I would definitely recommend it, especially for twins. ;)

Numbers: Book 1

Numbers: Book 1

By Rachel Ward

Jem, is fifteen years old and met a young named Terry, who has a nickname as Spider. Jem initially tries to stay away from Spider although he is one of his true friends. The reason why she avoids contacting with her is because she sees numbers associated with every person when her eyes meets their eyes. These numbers shows the date, the month and the year of that person's death. Jem knows that Spider is going to die in just a few months (after her mother's death). On the other hand, Spider invites Jem to his house, and Jem eventually met his grandmother, the only family member Spider has, and she can see auras and immediately recognized Jem as a kindred spirit, though she doesn't initially realize the depth of Jem's gift. She saw special auras around Jem, and was surprised. Jem and Spider begin spending a great deal of time together after Jem went to spiders house, and became couples afterwards. One day, she and Spider both got into trouble, and decided to run away from home. They visited an amusement park with a huge Ferris wheel, which is the London Eye. While they are having lots of fun, Jem soon saw that all the people there have the same number. She knows that these people would die because of something happening in the park. She and Spider ran away, and after they ran away, a bomb exploded and killed a great deal of people. Unfortunately, some of the people remember Jem and Spider running away before the explosion, So they are chase by the polices. After Spider saved Jem, who tried to suicide because she thinks that people having numbers are all her fault, since she is the only one who can see it. After Spider got released, and died, their son grew up, and appears to see numbers like his mother... I am so excited for the second book! And based on the ending of this book, saying that the boy can also see numbers, I think that the second book would be based on the boy. I am also looking foward to the third book.

I Am the Wallpaper

I Am the Wallpaper

By Mark Peter Hughes

The book I am reading is titled I Am The Wallpaper by Mark Peter Hughes. This novel is about thirteen-year-old Floey Packer feeling like she's always blended into the background. After all, she is the dull younger sister of the Fabulous Lillian, a girl so popular and spontaneous that their house is always packed with a gaggle of admirers. But when Lillian suddenly gets married and heads off on a month-long honeymoon, Floey decides it's her time to shine. Holding her diary, some books on Zen philosophy, and a jar of Deep Wild Violet hair dye, Floey embarks on a self-improvement mission with excellent results. People are finally noticing her, especially the boy who really counts. But then disaster strikes. Are people noticing Floey because she's so fabulous, or because her evil cousins posted her diary on the internet? And how will Floey ever repair the damage? My opinion on the novel, I Am the Wallpaper, is that the book was great! Its full of all kinds of different emotions that just about anyone can relate to. It's really funny and a good book to read. The genre of this book is realistic fiction. It's a story that resembles real life and fictional characters. Most young adults would like this book, typically girls, but boys could also enjoy this book because they would be able to relate to the dialogue of the story and also find it funny. It has a great plot that most people who like John Green would read. An internal conflict (man-self) from the book would be when Floey was realizing how nice she is, maybe a little too nice; the point in her life when she felt she needed to change herself to be noticed. An external conflict (man-man) from the book is when Floey and her two best friends Azra and Wen go to their secret hide out on the lake near Foley's house at half past midnight, on July 4th. While they were there, six elderly people came out from behind them in the bushes, bare naked. Everyone screams! Floey, Azra, and Wen run for their lives!! They can hear the elders trying to catch up with them, but they know the people are way back behind them.

I think it is really cool that they can put the famous William Shakespeare play and turn it into a more modern graphic novel.
