The Day the Women Got the Vote: A Photo History of the Women's Rights Movement

The Day the Women Got the Vote: A Photo History of the Women's Rights Movement

By George Sullivan

“Tuesday, November 2, 1920, was a day of triumph. For The first time in history, women across the united States were allowed to vote.” In the book, The Day The Women Got The Vote, the author illustrates the women’s struggle for equal rights in history by showing a significant amount of photos. With these photo, we get to understand the history of female heroes in the history who fought for liberty and helped alleviating the inequality against women. I found this book extremely inspiring and encouraging, because if it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t have the liberty and rights we have today as a girl and a woman. Without them, the inequality problem could have been worse. Without them, we are not able to enjoy all aspect of life like the way we do today. I believe that if the whole society could work together to end the gender inequality and spread the idea of feminism, we can achieve the goal of creating the world where everybody can be what they want to be and do what they want to do. What I learned from this book is that the women’s rights movement is not about the individuals, it is about everyone, and it is important for us to step up and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves and get the rights we deserve as human. I highly recommend this book to those who believe in feminism and who are interested in the history of the women’s rights movement.

Memoirs of a Hamster

Memoirs of a Hamster

By Devin Scillian

This book was about a hamster. His owner gave him 2 yogurt drops. He met a kitty. This kitty was no ordinary kitty. This kitty was a mean kitty. The kitty was very sneaky. The kitty told the hamster to stick his food bowl under his wheel so the wheel will stop. Then, climb out of the cage. So he did. The kitty also said the sunroom was full of yogurt drops. So the hamster did what he said and climbed out the cage. Once he got out the cage and went to the sunroom there was no yogurt drops. The kitty lied to him and tried to eat him. But luckily the owner saved him.

A Cry From Egypt (The Promised Land) (Volume 1)

A Cry From Egypt (The Promised Land) (Volume 1)

By Hope Auer

This book is about Jarah, an Israelite slave in Egypt. This book was especially cool, because it corresponds with my religion, what with Moses and the plagues. It was interesting learning more about that. In the book, Moses is trying to free the Israelites from the Egyptians, but the Pharaoh refuses to let them go. Moses, by the power of God, has created great plagues, and won't stop until the Egyptians free their slaves. Will they ever be free?
