Lincoln's Grave Robbers

Lincoln's Grave Robbers

By Steve Sheinkin

The author Steve Sheinkin tells the tale of an event happening 160 years ago in this meticulously researched nonfiction book; he delves into the world of body snatchers and counterfeiters and relates the story of a plot to steal Lincoln's body and hold it ransom. The story goes: Ben Boyd the noted counterfeiter is arrested, so the boss of the ring, Big Jim, hires a team of counterfeiters, including Terrence Mullen and Jack Hughes, to enact the body snatching plot. Yet Patrick Tyrell of the Secret Service is notified, and he promptly hires Lewis Swegles, famed horse thief, to act as a roper, ie, a spy. The story progresses as Swegles gathers information about the plan and Secret Service agents prepare for the planned date of the event. Written in a conversational style and including many interesting quotes from Tyrell's notes and the characters themselves, this book tells an engaging story and has straightforward language; it is also quite informative. This book is an example of good narrative nonfiction, and it's a great book for people of all ages.

Percy Jackson The Ultimate Collection 5 Books Set Epic Heroes Legendary Adventures by Rick Riordan

By Percy Jackson

I have never been more obsessed with another series than Percy Jackson! He's amazing and these 5 books really help bring Percy to life! Rick Riordan did an amazing job, and I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a little adventure (actually I would recommend it to anyone even if they don't like adventure).

The Great Paper Caper

The Great Paper Caper

By Oliver Jeffers

In this story, the animals are not happy because the bear is stealing their trees. This book is interesting. In the book, all the characters live under a tree. It is like a secret underground house. I think you should read this book.

How to Catch a Star

Minecraft: The Island: A Novel

Minecraft: The Island: A Novel

By Max Brooks

I enjoyed this book a lot. I thought it was cool that he was from the human world, but doesn't know anything about the world. He has to try and live his life the right way fighting monsters, building weapons, finding food, and making a good shelter. I can relate to this book by how people are introduced to new things, like a sister and/or brother, and has to learn to live with it. Overall, it was an awesome book to read and a great way to entertain yourself.

Plants vs. Zombies Volume 1: Lawnmageddon

Plants vs. Zombies Volume 1: Lawnmageddon

By Paul Tobin

This was suprising. I thought they would make a movie, but this is better! From the famous franchise "Plants vs Zombies" by Popcap and EA, this is a well drawn book. Although they introduced new characters, like Nate Timley, they really put them together well like Peanutbutter and Jelly. This was funny and interesting, a new twist to the game.

Sunny Side Up

Sunny Side Up

By Jennifer L. Holm

This story is really good because it would definitely help children who relate to Sunny to not feel ashamed of her family and scared of them while also not being scared of asking for help. I don't want to spoil this but I will say it is very good.

Bad Luck (The Bad Books)

Bad Luck (The Bad Books)

By Pseudonymous Bosch

Como C. Llama is the best! We loved this series!!!! 6 year old only wanted to review this series. 8 year old started collecting llamas because of Como, a beloved character. 11 year old and Mom all loved this series, many laughs were had, a bit of nail biting, but mostly just adventure and mystery and we didn't want it to end. My, now 9 year old has written reports on this series, because it was truly a joy to read.
