Reaching for sun By Vaughn Zimmer What you do if you had a disability causing everyone to treat you different? Josie Wyatt has cerebral palsy, a disease she was born with. Josie's disease causes her to feel like an outcast from everyone else. Josie blames herself for her disease that's why I believe she is the antagonist and protagonist. Josie grew up with her mother and grandmother she's never known her father he left her at a young age. The book reaching for sun Won the “Schneider family book award” it is a very powerful story. One of the conflicts is with Josie, she gets mad at herself for having cerebral palsy, she feels alone until a boy named Jordan moves into a house nearby and everything changes. Another conflict is with other kids at school they act like she doesn't exist. The setting of this book is josie’s neighborhood and at her school. As soon as Jordan comes into her life she doesn't just have more confidence but, she has a best friend. Do Josie and Jordan become more than friends? Find out by reading Reaching For Sun.
