Ronan Boyle and the Bridge of Riddles (Ronan Boyle #1)
By Thomas Lennon
Ronan Boyle is a hilarious, unlikely hero in his country of Ireland. He is part of the Galway garda (the Irish word for police) and after being used to squeeze through a tiny oubliette (the French word for 'to forget,' thus a shaft where people would drop things and they would end up in there, forgotten) during a garda case (because Ronan is known for being gangly) he gets promoted to the Special Unit overnight! Suddenly his life is changed FOREVER. First off, he had always heard the legends of the mythical creature-filled town Tir Na Nog, but when he started training with the garda Special Unit, he discovered that Tir Na Nog is not a legend at all, but a real town! And yes! It WAS filled with faerie folk, leprechauns, you name it! And Ronan Boyle is the good guy amongst the crime-filled streets of Tir Na Nog, faced with new cases every day. But there is one ultimate thing Ronan wants to accomplish: clearing his parents' names. His bookish, museum curator parents were *SUPPOSEDLY* involved in a business of finding artifacts that could be considered Irish national treasures, and selling them to shady art dealers for da big bucks. But Lord Desmond Dooley accused Ronan's parents of *again, SUPPOSEDLY* stealing the "Bog Man," which was an artifact they found that ended up testing out to reveal it was over 4,000 years old, meaning it was Ireland's OLDEST KNOWN ARTIFACT. Ronan's parents were thrown into the slammer, and much to Ronan's dismay, barely seemed unhappy there, as they had BOTH joined GANGS at the jail!!!!! YES. PRISON GANGS. Yet Ronan still wants to clear their names regardless of their experience. In this laugh-out-loud funny novel, Ronan tries to find his place in the Tir Na Nog Special Unit, and all in all, the world. I thought this book was incredibly funny, the author Thomas Lennon has a great sense of humor when it comes to writing! Ronan was a very relatable character at times, and I stressed, smiled, and gasped with him along his journey throughout the book. This was a great book, and I recommend it to anyone who likes comedic, adventure, or folklore books!
Judy Moody: The Doctor Is In!
By Megan McDonald
Judy is thrilled when her teacher announces that they are going to study the Amazing Human Body in class. Not only do they learn all kinds of “RARE!” things, but they get to go on field trip to the ER in the local hospital. Here the doctor in charge tells them all about what happens in the ER, he shows them some very interesting x-rays, and he even demonstrates how they put a cast on a broken arm. Best off all he uses Judy’s arm to demonstrate! The only thing that worries Judy is that she cannot come up with a good idea for her Human Body project. Stink won’t let her operate on his toad, she does not think her band-aid collection is all that interesting, and every other idea that she comes up simple isn't best-third-grade-project-ever worthy. Then Stink shares a special secret with Judy and she gets the idea of a lifetime. As with all the Judy Moody books, this title is laugh out loud funny. Judy, her brother Stink, and all her friends are as delightful as ever. Their ‘voices’ are genuine, and their adventures are true to life. At the same time, the stories have a delicious element of nuttiness that children (and other readers!) will find irresistible.
Judy Moody Saves the World! (Book #3)
By Megan McDonald
I like this book because she tries to save the world by setting Toady free which is Sink's pet and stink is Judy moody brother which was not the best idea because Sink gets mad and Judy gets in trouble by her parents and they say to go to her room. When Sink finds out that she is in a tree she says that this is her room and where she is living!!!!!!! Read this book to find out if she really stays in a tree or not if yes then how does she pull it off? Find out in another great book of Judy Moody!!!!!!!

Small Spaces
By Katherine Arden
I was supposed to read this for an online book club, and since Small Spaces was described as “a spooky and action-packed tale,” I was pretty sure I would like it. I was quick to open the book and start reading in anticipation, with high expectations in mind. I haven’t read these types of books in a long time, so it felt great to get back in touch with spooky kids’ stories like this. I loved the relatable characters and winding plot twists in Small Spaces—Katherine Arden’s writing is certainly great! It’s like she takes a strand of old, brittle thread, and weaves it into a beautiful piece of cloth that catches the eye of every person who walks by. Avid readers, get ready to plunge into a mysterious, thrilling story—get ready to read Small Spaces! Summary: When sixth grader Olivia “Ollie” Adler finds a crazed woman about to throw a book in the river, she knows she must do something about it. Finding inner strength that she never knew she had, Ollie steals the book and runs away. Called “Small Spaces”, the story is a complete mystery, and it seems to be related to the farm that her class will be going to as a field trip. When they arrive at the farm, Ollie feels like something is seriously wrong—especially when she sees that the owner of the farm is the same woman who was about to throw the book into the river. With help from two of her classmates, Coco and Brian, Ollie discovers something that could change her life forever. Can she figure out what the big mystery is? Read this book to find out! Overall, I liked this book, and rate it 4/5 stars. I recommend it to people who enjoy reading spooky books with many twists and turns!
Michael Vey 3: Battle of the Ampere
By Richard Paul Evans
I just started reading this book a few days ago. It is the third book MICHAEL VEY and I love it! great book! I recommend that you read this series by Richard Paul Evans! he will be coming out with 4 more Michael Vey books. So he says, the author, there will be a total of seven books when series is finished and we hope to get the first movie out soon! cant wait! usually I don't read a series but I love this one! :]
Michael Vey 5: Storm of Lightning
By Richard Paul Evans
Michael Vey: Storm of Lightning is the fifth installment in the widely popular Michael Vey series. It again stars a group called the Electroclan, a group of kids that are hunted by an evil corporation called the Elgen, because most of the Electroclan have electric powers such as throwing thunder, taking away pain, among other things. This book starts right where the last one ends, (Spoiler alert if you haven’t read the last one) where the resistance base that they stayed at was destroyed. This book is not very interesting, as almost nothing happens, and I feel that it doesn’t live up to the other books in the series, like blowing up the Ampere or rescuing the Jade Dragon. This book doesn’t really have anything like that; it’s more of a bridge to the next book, and only serves to explain some plot points that are not very interesting, nor do they have much to do with the main plot. The book introduces a new electric child, (which now leaves one more to be revealed) but this character is not used until the very end, and isn’t very interesting. This book advertises “However, I do think that Michael Vey fans should probably read this book, because it is at least a little interesting and adds a little to the overall plot. It advertises “Can the Electroclan pull together to defeat the Elgen once and for all?”, but in reality, there is barely any interaction between the Electroclan and the Elgen, making this book pretyy boring. This book gets a ⅗ for the casual reader, but a 3.5/5 for a Michael Vey fan, or at least read the other ones. I recommend this for Michael Vey fans in the 6th to 8th grade age area, as it will provide some enjoyment for Michael Vey fans, but not as much for newcomers to the series.
Michael Vey 7: The Final Spark
By Richard Paul Evans
I had read every book that my library had available-which basically means books 1-6. But NO, not seventh! I was freaking out when my brother checked it out and I was like PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CAN I READ IT??? And he said sure so I partied! Anyway, to the book: Even though I think that the fourth is better, the 7th one is really good! Because it is the last book to the AWESOME Michael Vey series, it's great! It ties up everything I was wondering about. (For example, DID MICHAEL DIE?!??!?!?) And all in all it is an amazing book! Michael is missing, and the Electroclan gets captured by the evil Hatch. The last electrokid is discovered! And at the end is a reveal about Michael's past that made me gasp! LOVE THIS SERIES <3 --BKS reviews
