Kids Books - Science Fiction

This is the perfect starter chapter book for not only boys, but girls too. Harley Quinn may be on the wrong side of the law, but she definitely makes for an interesting bad girl. After kidnapping Robin with just a simple “KRAK!” of a crowbar, she uses him to get her hands on Batman. After meeting up with the Joker he provides readers with some corny jokes, which are actually funny. “Why can’t a clown’s nose be twelve inches long?” I liked this book because it uses both pictures and words as well as action words like “KRAK!” “THUD!” and “SLAM” which are bigger than the text and colored like you would see in a comic book. You also get to read more about the characters that aren’t usually the main characters like Robin and Harley Quinn. In the back of the book there is a glossary as well as discussion questions and writing prompts so teachers could easily use this book in the classroom which might be a nice way to help struggling readers or just help kids learn to love to read! Why not pick up a copy for you and a copy for your teacher!

This is good book if you have seen the movie and was wondering about the background to some of the story lines like Audrey did a newspaper article on a crisis of Mal changing all the girls' hair. This was a really cool read and wish it was in the movie. So if you want a more detailed and in depth backdrop to the kids of Auradon Prep, read this book.

I love MH and was excited when I got this book to review. This book is just like the tv show and very well written.

This book is stunning. The quality of the printing and the weight of the pages make it feel like something special and well worth the money. The early production sketches and the comments from the Ghibli staff are greatly appreciated and provide a decent amount of insight into the creative process. Whilst the amount of film stills could be off putting to people who want to see things they haven't before, the images look so good on the glossy paper, particularly the full page ones, it's hard to imagine anyone feeling too disappointed. The inclusion of the film script to finish out the book was a nice unexpected bonus too. For this book I cannot sing its praises high enough. The animated films from Studio Ghibli are world renowned translated in to multiple languages and back from the likes of Walt Disney in their distribution and recognition. The artwork and storyline blend together to form a timeless story which you cannot help be transported away with, from the world of Howls Moving Castle to the forests of Princess Mononoke to the magic of My Neighbour Totoro, Studio Ghibli have an uncanny ability to tell stories like no other. This book written in part by Hayao Miyazaki captures much of the art work used in the film - with explanatory notes and comments. As such the book is sumptuously illustrated with full and double page illustrations. For anyone who loved the film this is a must but it also appeals to anyone who appreciate artwork and the beautiful of a well crafted story told through images. The only problem I have now is trying to put out of my mind how good the entire Ghibli Library would look on my shelf...

A very good continuation to the Hunger Games.

This book is good. It is written in a letter format, similar to a diary. It is about a girl called Sophie, and Sophie is poor. She inherited a farm from her Great-Uncle Jim. She finds a small, white chicken, and from there, things go haywire. When reading this book, you can never know what to expect! It is a third to fifth grade level, depending on your reading skills.
