Negima! Magister Negi Magi, Vol. 2
By Ken Akamatsu
Negima! continues its wacky hijinks in volume 2 of the popular manga series of Ken Akamatsu. This volume is mostly filler to appeal new readers into the series before they really get into the plot. The book is rated 16+ due to some suggestive humor and scenes of girls bathing (not much is visible), but it should be fine for older kids and teens.

xxxHOLiC, Vol. 10
By CLAMP
This book/anime series is insane. It starts out with an unsuspecting guy stumbling on a shop that grants wishes. The owner offers to rid him of his problem of seeing spirits, but only if he becomes a part time worker for her. It turns into kind of a horror story, and then gets really deep. (episode 14 in the anime, I believe) I found it well worth reading (watching, actually), but I should warn you that it has substantial alcohol use.
