Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices)
By Cassandra Clare
Lady Midnight was one of the most incredible books I have ever read. Between the epic love story that will leave you broken and the amazing plot that will leave you astounded, I absolutely LOVED this book. It all starts when mysterious, demonic kills start to happen that are similar to Emma Carstair's parents deaths. Emma is a shadow hunter, which means that she keeps modern-day deadly, mystical creatures under control, such as: vampires, werewolves, and demons... but her forever passion was finding who killed her parents, and she knew that these kills would answer it. As she faces the dark future ahead of her she is an inspiration to many as she never gives up. Ever. Emma shows that she never will leave her family behind, even if that means she has to sacrifice herself for them. As she races towards the truth of her parents deaths she comes closer and closer to her own. Lady Midnight is a powerful, inspiring, and gripping read. You won't be able to put it down!
The Rithmatist
By Brandon Sanderson
The book I read was Rithmitist by Brandon Sanderson. The book was about a non-Rithmitist student named Joel and his friend Melody. Joel attends a Rithmatist school called Arimduas, only because Joel's mother is a night maid and works there. After students start disappearing is up to Joel and Melody to find the kidnapper and stop him. The atmosphere of the book is sorta Harry Potter esc and a little bit of steam punk mixed into it. The rate I would hit the book is 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. The reason being is because there are some slow parts of the book that was really boring. They tried to lead to a romance but that just took way and sidetracked the reader. For example the Ice Cream parlor was just a wast of time. Non of the information in that scene was of any use except maybe the dollar. Over all thought the book is still fantastic and you should read it.
Hunger (Gone)
By Michael Grant
This was a really amazing great book. I enjoyed it a lot and this got me to read way more than I usually do. This is what it's about. Since Caine Soren, the leader was actually evil and wanted a lot of destruction. And after being sick for 3 months, him and his crew finally go and try to kill Sam and take over The FAYZ (fallout alley youth zone). Unfortunately, that wasn't the worst. Many kids were very lazy and completely refusing to work, and one of the results of that was starvation. Some people who didn't get powers were jealous and falsely accused someone of murdering, causing many people without powers to turn against them (the people with powers). The FAYZ seems to be going down and nothing is going well. I thought this was a really great book and the author did an amazing job adding suspense and I was really attached to this book.

The Adoration of Jenna Fox (The Jenna Fox Chronicles)
By Mary E. Pearson
I found this book at my school library and picked it up because I needed a book to read. It turned out to be so much more than a time-filler, however. The story begins with Jenna Fox, who has just woken up from a year-long coma. She now lives in a house in California with her parents and grandmother, who do not let her leave. Jenna is regaining her memory and she starts to find herself again, find out what happened to her, and who she really is. A great book for middle-grade readers who love a mix of sci-fi and realistic fiction.

Inside the Walls of Troy
By Clemence McLaren, Joel P. Johnson
In this historical story, retold by Clemence McLaren, we are introduced to two characters; Helen - the most beautiful and famous female alive, who is the cause of the Trojan War; Cassandra - has the gift, or curse, to predict the future. When Cassandra foresees the ruin of her family and city that Helen's arrival in Troy will cause, she is outraged. While this happened, Helen gets wife-snatched by Cassandra's own half brother, Paris. Helen and Paris fall deeply in love but when they sail to Troy, they do not know the chaos that will happen. Soon, the Greek people call for war for stealing the king's wife. I'll leave it off here because it's pretty good and I think you should experience it yourself!
