Kids Books - Science Fiction
Children of Refuge (Children of Exile)
By Margaret Peterson Haddix
This is a really good book that follows the first book well. The only thing I wish is that there would be another book in this series. This is a great book.
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Step-up adventures)
By Judith Conaway
I gave this book a 4 star rating because it caught my attention. This book is about the story of three accidental visitors to an underwater world hosted by the mysterious Captain Nemo. From their arrival on board the Nautilus, the scholarly Professor Aronnax, loyal Conseil, and adventurous Ned Land are torn between exploring the new wonders of their surroundings and finding a way to escape. They originally went to Nautilus to find out what species of undiscovered whale has been damaging world shipping. However, far from encountering a whale that has wrecked world shipping, they soon find themselves on the iron plating of a new kind of vessel, a submarine. Read this book to find out more. I made a connection with this book because I saw the front cover had the tentacles and the tentacles were wrapped around the ship and the ship looked like it was sinking.

Dead City
By James Ponti
I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved how the mood and tone were very nice and smooth, the opposite of intense - whatever that is. Anyways, I found this book a really interesting novel to read, and can't wait to read the next one! I enjoyed all the characters and misadventures and misunderstandings. I really do recommend this book because I found it really exciting and great! I would like to thank James Ponti and everybody else who contributed to this book. My day would not have been made without it. Last but not least, I just want to say that, while I have read tons and tons of books, not many were as enjoyable and fun to read as Dead City.
On Thin Ice
By Michael Northrop
Ked is a boy with a progressive back issue. Ked's mom left him and his dad a couple years ago. Ked's dad gambled all of their rent money away. On top of all of this, Ked has to deal with bullies as he loses every one of his friends. Ked does EVERYTHING to keep him and his dad afloat. He earns money in every way he can. His dad keeps gambling even as a deadline is placed on the rent that hasn't been paid in a few months. I connect with this book when I see people suffering inside and out. This book was so amazing that I never wanted to put it down. I rated this book five stars because of how stunning the emotions it made you feel were.
Fairest of All: A Tale of the Wicked Queen (Villains)

this book is my favorite book. It tells the story as a way to show why the queen did it. It is a sad and scary bok. You learn about the evil queens life and why she decides to do things more over others. I very strongly suggest to read this book.
Dragonhaven
By Robin McKinley
Dragonhaven is about a young boy who lives at the Institute in a national park. This particular national park had dragons in it. Jake is the boy's name, and he is finally going on his first overnight solo in the park. On this overnight peculiar things happen. Jake mostly remembers the mother dragon and the baby dragon. The baby dragon ends up with Jake. As the evening goes on the night of the solo Jake is found by Billy, a ranger. Then the real adventure starts when Jake becomes a junior ranger to hide the baby dragon. I connected this book to when I babysit because my siblings are always needing something. I rated this book four stars because well it was good it got boring when he talked about the history of the national park.

The Missing Collection: Found; Sent; Sabotaged; Torn; Caught
By Margaret Peterson Haddix, Mike Heath
I gave this book 5 stars because it was really interesting and I connected to it really well. This is what the story was about a kid and he's 13 years old and discovers he's one of the missing and keeps getting these letters. They figure out some were identified in the passed. I connected to the book by when I don't be that patient and try to hurry to get things done.
