Lord of Shadows (Dark Artifices)

Lord of Shadows (Dark Artifices)

By Cassandra Clare

zie

There is a certain allure to the Shadowhunter world, and I can say that anyone who has read Lord of Shadows has found it. It is a work of urban fantasy, romance, mystery and a battle of the most interesting races that I’ve heard of. Everything in The Shadowhunter Chronicles is crafted with such care; each character having the flaws, drive and hangups that make them human. They are all just that—humans in a world that might not be ready for change. These books (of the Shadowhunter Chronicles) are so full of wonder, and they offhandedly remind the reader of the hard truths that exist in any world—real or fictional. There is so much to say about Lord of Shadows. This book brings about a sinister air of what is to come: it does not bring peace to the audience that follows its series, but there are moments of that same peace amidst the madness. There is no words in any language that can convey my anguish and tears as I neared the final pages. To have to put a book like this down! I would never consider it! The journey that this book took me on warrants an entire manuscript of raw emotion. I could never dream that words printed on paper could make me feel so many things—that people and a story created in someone’s mind could influence my way of thinking.

Smoke Mountain (Seekers #3)

Smoke Mountain (Seekers #3)

By Erin Hunter

Lusa, Toklo, and Kallik’s epic journey continues in the third book of the Seekers series, as they battle for survival. The bears are glad to have a break from journeying—but there’s some bad news, too. The only way to arrive at the Last Great Wilderness, their next destination, is by crossing Smoke Mountain. The treacherous place stretches on forever...and many bears have tried and failed to cross it. But Lusa, Toklo, and Kallik are not ordinary bears. Do they have the strength and courage it takes to cross Smoke Mountain? The answer is yes. Soon, the three friends leave, but danger looms over them. The mountains are home to many creatures—and some of them might even be deadly for a bear. As they enter rockier terrain, the journey becomes even harder...and they must fight for survival in this cold, dangerous place. Then, Lusa is kidnapped by flat-faces—the strange animals who build even stranger objects, the creatures with no claws or fur...and now, her life is turned around. Living in captivity, with no way to escape, is harder than she thought, and now, this young bear is separated from Kallik and Toklo! Can she find a way to return to the wilderness? Read this book to find out!

The Quest Begins (Seekers, Book 1)

The Quest Begins (Seekers, Book 1)

By Erin Hunter

There are many lessons that each and every character learned in Seekers The Quest Begins. Kalik the bear lesson was to keep pushing through life even though it is hard. Lusa the bear lesson was that is easier to live with the humans than living out in the wild.Toklo the bear lesson was that it is hard to live without having a brother that Toklo used to play with. It also affects his life because he is sad all the time cause his brother is dead. Toklo`s brother is dead because when Toklo, his brother and mom were going to the “Great Bear Lake” Toklo`s brother was not feeling good and his eyes were foggy. The next day Toklo`s brother did not wake up. I would give this book a "8 out of 10" because it is a book about bears and it is funny, a little bit scary and it makes your adrenaline rise.I would would recommend this book to people who like animals and the circle of life. If there was one unanswered question it will be "How long did burn sky last and how hot did it get during burn sky." marvelous

And Sky Strider, a wise elephant who wants to help Thorn with his duties as the Great Father, must make an impossible decision; return to her former herd? Or continue to stay with Thorn? Only kill to survive. This rule has been broken...and the code breakers must atone. Can the animals of Bravelands defeat the powerful wolves? Read this book to find out!

The Battle of the Red Hot Pepper Weenies: And Other Warped and Creepy Tales (Weenies Stories)

The Battle of the Red Hot Pepper Weenies: And Other Warped and Creepy Tales (Weenies Stories)

By David Lubar

Have you ever heard about a hot dog getting braces? No well maybe you should read this book. My book is called The Battle of the Red Hot Pepper Weenies by David Lubar. Their setting is on our world except instead of humans people are walking and talking hot dogs known as weenies. There is not a main character in my book in every chapter there is a new story about new people in a different place in the world at different times. A girl hot dog doesn't have a date for the school dance until her dad makes one for her in his lab. A family of hot dogs enjoys a nice Thanksgiving dinner until they are interrupted by a group of turkeys out for revenge. A princess meets a pea-brained suitor in her castle and has to deal with him. The battle of the two red hot pepper weenies ends in flames and in a bad way. Someone that likes weird and dumb books would like this book series because these books are very weird and dumb in some ways. Some people don’t like books like that but some other people do like me.

Requiem (Delirium Trilogy)

Requiem (Delirium Trilogy)

By Lauren Oliver

All of Lena's adventures have led up to this moment: breaking Portland free of its cured "Zombies." However, with Alex alive, she is still fighting a battle with amor nervosa deliria. Alex says he never really loved her. Lena doesn't dare to hope and rebounds to Julian. But when Alex strikes up a relationship with the lovely new girl, Coral, Lena can't deny her jealousy. Venturing through the Wilds with regulators means death at any moment, though, so Lena tries to push all of her feelings out of the way. The stakes are increasingly higher; regulators are now infiltrating the Wilds to kill all the Invalids. There is a traitor hiding within the Invalid group. Thousands die in the process. With her previously-thought-dead mother back, Julian and Alex fighting physically, and the Wilds a place filthier than she ever imagined, Lena wonders if it was a mistake ever joining the Invalids. But she made a choice. And without the cure, you are free to choose, even to choose the wrong thing. This book was dazzling, but the only thing I was opposed to was the open ending. I would not recommend starting the Delirium Trilogy at all if you do not like open endings, because this final book ends with one, and there is no fourth book. At the end, you don't really know who Lena ends up with, or if the Invalids win, or if Fred Hargrove dies, or if Portland simply becomes more corrupt. But the open ending is also a symbol: you, the reader, get to choose and interpret what will happen in the end, just as Lena and the Invalids get to choose because they are not cured and turned choiceless. Overall, I loved this book, I just am not a fan of indefinite endings.
