By Akira Himekawa
This book was pretty good. It's based on one of my favorite video games so I thought I'd like it. I had a hard time telling who was who because the book is not in color and some of the characters look the same.

Greystone Secrets #2: The Deceivers
By Margaret Peterson Haddix
I really enjoyed this book! I did not read book 1 because I didn't pay much attention to it but then while I was reading this book a thought hit me, I was reading book 2! This book is about 4 kids Chess, Natalie, Emma, and Finn. ( Chess, Emma, and Finn are siblings) The four kids have to find a way to get into the other world and save their beloved ones. Of course! With the lever! But the four kids have to be very careful because in the other world everyone is evil and no one can trust anyone. My thoughts: I had a hard time with my summary so if you want to know what happens read the book! I was captivated in this book and I really enjoyed it! I think that when you read this book you to will be very engaged with the characters and the plot and the story line! I hope you give this book a try!
Third Grade Mermaid
By Peter Raymundo
This book was pretty ok to me. It is about this mermaid. She gets her report card and she gets A's in everything except spelling. She is going to join this famous swim team. The couch kicks her out because she didn't get a good grade in spelling( she got an F). She has this pet named Salty. Also her mother gives her a diary. To get back on the swim team, she has to get a good grade on her next spelling test. She has to study for the test. The conflict is that she doesn't want to study. Also it takes her a long time to memorize the spelling for the words. Later she meets a group that she loves to watch. The girl that is mean to her is her favorite group's sibling. She surprisingly invites her to her party. Later they go on a field trip and discover her secret. At the end she makes the spot she wants but doesn't take it. I thought this book was ok. It wasn't really fascinating. Event though this book wasn't the best, you should still try the book and see if you like it. I rate this book three stars.

May is the wicked queen's grand daughter. Jack and May get kidnapped by merman in neverland and so many action packed things happen! Oh and that ending... you gotta see it!
Prodigy: A Legend Novel
By Marie Lu
George
Prodigy is a fast paced, action packed and suspenseful sequel to the first book in its series, Legend. This book takes place in a strict dystopian society, making it science fiction. Marie Lu(The author)creates this book with an interesting plot with a lot of twists to it. I would definitely recommend this book to kids 12 and above. So what makes this book so good? Read on to find out. Prodigy maintains a fast pace and compelling example of life in a strict dystopian society, as in Legend, while continuing to portray a believable love story between the Republic of America’s most wanted and their star military trainee. Yet not once does this romance get in the way of a fascinating story. It’s not always clear how June and Day truly feel towards each other, torn between trusting what they grew up believing and what surrounds them now. Day questions whether June really is a dependable person despite coming from a privileged background of great wealth, while Day grew up on the streets, and June questions where her devotion lay, in protecting the Elector Primo or demolishing the system? It would be easy to write a story in which both characters transform into two people with converging beliefs, but Marie Lu shows us that our background is not so easy to escape from. It’s anything but an easy ride for these two dedicated teenagers. Marie Lu takes us through an unpredictable series of events that show that a repressive society is not always black and white, that those who at first seem evil, or honorable and good, may surprise you. I first read Legend two months ago and I was worried that I would no longer be able to follow the storyline, but flashbacks are seamlessly added, meaning that I was able to jump right back in without any trouble. Prodigy is similar to many other dystopian books. For example in the Hunger Games, there is also a romance story and the society killing innocent people. But in Prodigy there are so many more plot twists and interesting changes to how you thought the book was going to be. Prodigy in my opinion stands out from other dystopian books out there. Marie Lu has many other books including the next book in this series, Champion, and other dystopian novels such as The Young Elites. Before she started working on books, she was a video game designer for disney. I think Marie Lu is a great writer and this series so far has been great. I have another book review on Legend, the first book in the series. So if you are a teenager, or around that age that likes dystopian/Sci-fi books, you’ll love this bestselling book, Prodigy.
Truly Devious: A Mystery

A Drop of Hope
By Keith Calabrese
This book was flat-out amazing!! Ernest, Ryan and Lizzy have always seen and heard stories about their town of Cliffs Donnelly's wishing well. But they've never really believed that it actually granted wishes... until one day they find themselves underneath the well in a small cave, able to hear every wish tossed down into the well's abyss. And for some reason it seems to connect with Ernest's grandfather's attic. Ernest's grandfather told Ernest repeatedly and sort of spookily to clean up his attic after he passes, and when Ernest does, the object that he takes out of the attic ends up doing something to grant a wish from the well. Sounds pretty crazy, right?? Well, at this point nothing seems crazy anymore to Ernest, Lizzy and Ryan. They start seeing that with a little bit of kindness and thought, wishes do come true. This book was actually filled with some mystery and a lot of suspense. And I LOVED it!! It was SO GOOD! Keith Calabrese does an amazing job describing the 3 friend's tale, and I hung on to every word and devoured this book in 2 days! If you like adventure, mystery, and basically a good book, you NEED to read this book, because I COMPLETELY and TOTALLY recommend it, for any age and anyone. :)
