Kids Books - Adventure Books

To be honest, although this book was sweet and original, I would not call myself a great fan. It is inspiring that a twelve year old or eleven year old girl would be able to write at the level that she does, and publish a book. However, I noticed many flaws in the writing. I myself am a writer, and am currently editing a book- not that I expect that to ever be very successful, as there I should never any guarantee of that- and am noticing flaws in my own writing as well as hers. The story is rather simple- which is just fine. However, the characters never seemed to differ from each other. Aska’s supposedly courageous character was sort of ruined for me because of her occasional “damsel in distress” episodes. They all speak with the same voice- using broad vocabulary, preaching peace. Their characters are just so similar, but perhaps that wouldn’t be the case if the author was writing in the point of view of so many different characters. Of course, this applies to all but Turnatt’s, because he is the malicious and evil hawk villain. As for Miltin’s death, it was sweet and somber, but I guess I didn’t understand how he died. I picked up on the detail that he broke his wing, but one of the reason she stated in the story was that “after all of his years as a slave, he couldn’t live any longer” or something along those lines. That didn’t make a lot of sense to me. It would had the character been elderly, but Miltin was a young robin, by my understanding. I was sitting there thinking for a moment, “Okay, so, he died because he was beat up before?” It would have made more sense if the injury had been more fatal...or perhaps the broken wing had been fatal enough, regardless of his past beatings. Another thing that I noticed was that the author dragged out details to the point where it just wasn’t necessary. She could turn a single piece of dialogue into a small paragraph. Overall, this book was nice. I liked it, but I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite. However, it is also helping me learn how to edit my story, and inspires me to keep on writing. Huge props to you, Nancy Yi Fan.

I just read something about this new series - looks cool. I love animal adventure books!

I absolutely loved this book! It has some awesoe vocab and it it alltogether thrilling! It just leaves you hanging and makes you want to carry on and read more!

This was the final book (not counting the prequel) of the Alex Rider series. And I thought it was really, unmeasurably awesome. I liked how the author wrote a beginning of 112 pages without 1 word in Alex's perspective and it had such an amazing plan but for such a minor thing. The main antagonist Razim was even smarter than the Winston Yu man from Snakehead and he was going to set him up. Scorpia was able to record everything that Alex did and then kill him, showing that Great Britain was using a teenage spy and how he got killed in action. This would disgrace the British government so much that nobody would want to work with them. I think that this was an amazing final and I loved how he got totally set up by Scorpia and that they were way ahead of him. It was an unpredictable book and also my favorite of all of the Alex Rider series because of it's intensity.

The book had some cute dogs and it is a fun book to read, I think any one who likes cute dogs shold read this book. have fun with this book if you want to read it. BEST BOOK EVER!

I HIGHLY reccomend this book to anyone looking for a funny, adventurous, and suspenseful book! I love it! Molly Moon is an orphan who lives at a horrible orphanage. One day she goes to the library and finds a "no-read on hold" book about hypnotism. It leads her to NYC! Will she use her possible hypnotic powers to help? Or to con?? Amazing book! I've read it over and over again!

this is an owesome book, stop reading if you want no hints at spoilers it is cool, especially the introduction of a new girl ranger apprentice i like how instead of the mentor being halt, now it is will. the swap is cool almost teared up when i heard alyss died, very good!!! maybe the 2nd or 3rd book in this seriers i will miss the books since this is the last one

Yeah it looks creepy but if you haven't read it yet then you know nothing at all. Read the first book first then you'll fall in love with the series. I promise.

At the time, a man called Mr. Granger is running unopposed for mayor. The only other person considering running is Heather Simmons, but Nancy has gotten so far to figure out that-gasp!-Heather's daughter, musician all-star, Leslie, had gone missing! Everyone says Leslie is just at a getaway, to practice for an audition at one of the most elite music schools out there. But when Leslie doesn't show up for her recital, Nancy knows something is wrong. While at Leslie's no-show recital, she meets Mrs. Sharon- another woman trying to get her daughter into college. Later, Nancy, Bess, and George, face the crazy, mishap adventures of the road when Nancy decides that she will head up to the supposed "getaway" Leslie was staying at with the Sharon's daughter, Diane. The Sharons' offered it to Leslie to go so far to retreat to practice. Sounding fishy enough yet? Yep, guess what? When Nancy finally gets to the right house, she finds Leslie all alone. By this time, they knew they were going to miss the audition. Leslie tells Nancy that Mr. Sharon was supposed to pick her up LAST night, and he had picked Diane up yesterday, so Leslie could practice longer. WHY he would take two super-long trips, I don't know! But when Nancy pointed this out Leslie, Leslie stated Diane was her best friend! Later revealed, Diane had no clue her parents had sabotaged Leslie-yep, that's what happened. When they all got home, it was Nancy's Dad's b-day. Nancy had failed to find the perfect gift until a brilliant one popped into her brain. Leslie agreed to play a surprise, beautiful piano piece for the entire party. Mr. Drew was ecstatic!!! This book was totally worth it, and I loved it to the extreme! I know when I reviewed this, there was only one other review! So, if you find this, PLEASE try it out. I highly recommend it.

Lost trail by: Dohn Fendler Do you like adventurous book...yes of course you do. Lost trail is a true story about a boy named Dohn Fendler and the writer is Dohn Fendler. The book is like a comic book but a normal book at the same time, and that's why I love and recommend this book from grades 4-8. This book is about a boy named Dohn Fendler getting lost in Mt. Katahdin for 9 days.the protagonist is Dohn and there is no antagonist. There is no antagonist because nothing really stopped him trying to survive. There were bears but according to the book they just looked at Dohn and walked away, twice. This book is amazing because you really get into the book while your reading it, you just get hooked as if you were a fish getting caught. This book is the best book I have (and will.) ever read for many reasons upon reasons upon reasons upon reasons. This book is also good because if you never went to boy/Girl Scouts this book will teach you some things.
