I Am Number Four (Lorien Legacies, Book 1)

I Am Number Four (Lorien Legacies, Book 1)

By Pittacus Lore

"I am Number Four" is an action packed thrill ride that keeps you on the edge of you're seat at all times! I had watched the movie, so I decided that I wanted to read the book. And man, this is one of my favorite books I've ever read. It connects with the reader, and drags them into the world of Number Four and the Lorics. You begin to understand Four's situation, and why he's on Earth running from the Mogodorians. While he's on Earth, he starts to make new friends, such as Sarah and Sam. As John (Four) starts school, he comes in conflict with the school bully, Mark James. Mark gives John a hard time while he's at school, until he goes to far. John had it, so he told Mark to never cross him or his friends ever again. Near the end of the book, Mark, along with Sarah and Sam, discover John's ability. They decide to help him out, and they eventually meet number six, who helps them with their fight against the evil Mogodorians. After all, this book is amazing, and I couldn't put it down. It was absolutely Incredible in every way. I totally recommend this book to whoever's looking for a good friend.

Hug a Tree, Geronimo (Geronimo Stilton #69)

Hug a Tree, Geronimo (Geronimo Stilton #69)

By Geronimo Stilton

I read this book because I really like the Geronimo Stilton series. In this book, it is springtime, and Geronimo has to come up with a new idea of a book to write. But you can't just write a book on command, right? Geronimo was hit with a writer's block. He couldn't think. He ended up biking on the countryside, where he came across the Stilton Family Farm. H got nostalgic for all his memories there, and decided to buy it... Right before a mysterious lady in a leopard limousine could. Who was that? Anyways, he told his family & friends at the Rodent's Gazette. They loved it, and moved in with Geronimo. By winter, they were finished renovating the farm. They took 3 seasons! Ack! One day, Geronimo went for a walk, and found a tree nobody had seen in like. a 100 years! He told his family. Then, Geronimo got a text: "You took the farm from me. Now keep your paws off the tree." Or something like that. I can't tell you the rest, but here's a hint: AUCTION. And I rate this 4 out of 5 stars.

The Elders (Foxcraft, Book 2)

The Elders (Foxcraft, Book 2)

By Inbali Iserles

This book is a work of art--I cannot describe it in any other way. The Elders is action-packed, witty, and nicely written. I liked it even better than the previous book in the Foxcraft series, The Taken, because Inbali Iserles has once again written a thrilling and beautiful book. All the characters were extremely relatable, with good personalities and humanlike feelings--especially Isla, the main protagonist. She is brave, courageous, and determined, willing to do anything to find her brother, Pirie. Her personality makes her an awesome character whom I could look up to, and she faces her fears with all four paws on the ground.-------Review: Isla's trek through the unknown wilderness to find her brother has now led her into The Wildlands, a vast forest that holds many secrets. Her life is at stake--but she has come this far using foxcraft, an ancient magic that only foxes like her can use. But evil lurks in the depths of the Wildlands...evil that even she may not be able to face. When a strange fox with the ability to make others do as he pleases comes into the forest, Isla is the one who must stop him. Can she do it? Read this book to find out!

A Tangle of Knots

A Tangle of Knots

By Lisa Graff

This wasn't my favorite book. The ending was too simple, and I felt like the author didn't express enough about the world that the book takes place in. It was really short, and if I'm honest with myself, it was NOT a fourth and fifth grade level book. It was more like a third and fourth grade level book. I think the interest level is more Grades 2-4 rather than grades 3-7. I'd heard a lot of great things about the book, but I don't think I saw it how other people did. It was an interesting setting, where almost everyone had a talent, but that wasn't much of a fantasy for me. I think that everyone is extremely good at SOMETHING, they just don't know it yet. But in the book, it was kind of saying that you can only be what you're good at. I might be extremely good at something, but that does NOT mean I have to enjoy doing it. I was especially disappointed with the book because the author, Lisa Graff wrote one of my favorite books of all time, Absolutely Almost. That book really touched my heart and is special to me. But I didn't feel that in A Tangle of Knots. I wish that it had more depth to it. It was really flat for me. Anyways, it did have a touching moment with Cady and her father, but that was the only special thing about A Tangle of Knots. After reading Absolutely Almost, I had assumed A Tangle of Knots would be equally good if not better. Boy was I wrong.

Ivy and Bean Break the Fossil Record (Book 3) (Ivy & Bean)

Ivy and Bean Break the Fossil Record (Book 3) (Ivy & Bean)

By Annie Barrows

I have a new interest in archaeology and zoology. So this book was just what the scientist ordered! Ivy and Bean are a great read for any age girl. And this book is great if they are interested in science. My favorite part would be when Ivy and Bean start to put the bones that they found together, thinking that it was a whole new species. Where did they find these bones? What did they uncover? Read the book and enjoy the journey like I did. I think you will.
