Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she's made it out of the bloody arena alive, she's still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what's worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss's family, not her friends, not the people of District 12. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins's groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year.

This is the book that every single moment of The Hunger Games and Catching Fire has been leading up to. The big finale. This book is Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. The final installment to The Hunger Games series. So, does it live up to the hype? Yes...and no. This book takes place about a month after Catching Fire and the location is a spoiler to people who haven't read that book. The protagonist of this book is Katniss Everdeen who is now involuntarily the face of the rebellion against the capitol and the antagonist, President Snow. Katniss has barely survived the Hunger Games twice, but each time she has broke the rules to make it out alive which has made her the face of the rebellion against the capitol. The capitol wants nothing more than to kill Katniss Everdeen and end the rebellion. So, Katniss and her allies must go to war against the capitol and kill president snow to win the war. That is one of the major conflicts in this book. Another one is the very uneasy relationship between Katniss and pretty much everyone around her. One last conflict is whether Katniss will become the mockingjay or not. The symbol of hope for the rebellion. Katniss attempts to solve this problem by shutting everyone out, but that doesn't work once the war starts. Katniss must decide. Will she be the mockingjay? Will she kill President Snow? This book has a slow start, but then gives you enough action for 3 books. A lot of important characters die. This book has twists at every turn and is unpredictable. You never know who will die and the ending will surprise anyone. I recommend this book to anyone who has read Catching Fire and The Hunger Games. Mockingjay is a good conclusion to a great series.
