Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before - and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Collins delivers equal parts suspense and philosophy, adventure and romance, in this searing novel set in a future with unsettling parallels to our present.

At last Katniss win the game and District 12 proud of her. Author:Suzanne Collins.

It was so nice that she practically through her life away to protect her sweet sister. Personally I would have never done that.

In my opinion this book was good anndeltailed! I think the author is trying to show people what it is like to face a nightmare and fight through the dark

The Hunger Games is about a girl named Katniss, who lives in District 12, which is among the 11 other districts that surround the artificial capital, Panem. Katniss finds herself chosen as the girl tribute, for the annual Hunger Games, the form of entertainment and power that Panem portrays when they force the girls and boys to fight to the death. During the Hunger Games, she faces life and death situations, such as a barrage of fiery rocks and the elite Career group. Peeta, the boy tribute for her district, appears to have betrayed her, but surprisingly saves her life afterwards. The turning point, however, is when there is an announcement that both tributes may live. Now Katniss and Peeta must work together to survive, while playing out a acted 'love' story to keep the capital entertained. This was a good book, the plot and the element of the real danger of the capital. I just really didn't like the idea of the Hunger Games itself- hopefully humanity will never become so barbaric.

I READ THIS BOOK ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO... whoops caps... Anyways, it was a very enjoyable, yet sad, tale about our protagonist, Katniss, and how she survives the Hunger Game. Can't wait to read the next!

think this book is very good, cause is very interesting and cool to read, Katniss have to fight for survi val, and the last two survival is the winner, and this time Katniss got selected and had to fight in the hunger game which she need to fight independently and no one will help him, but she eventually bumped to Peeta which he lived at district 12 too.

Do you like action? The book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is filled to the last page with action. The Hunger Games is my new favorite book. I think that every living being, that can read, should read this book. The Hunger Games is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen. Katniss lives in district 12 in Panem. She volunteers to be a tribute in replacement of her sister, Prim. I would give this book 8 out of 5 stars. I know people say that all the time but, it’s true. This science fiction book has its own scary moments though. Especially towards the end….. ”May the odds be ever in your favor”

I just read the Hunger Games and I though it was the greatest book ever. I just started the second book Catching Fire and I think it is awesome so far. :)

Oh boy, where do you start with this book. If you have never read or seen this book, you probably already know the story. This book is the reason why we have "The Maze Runner", "Divergent", And many other great book and movies. This one book changed the entire system of how we read today. Full of great action, for thrill seekers. A love story, for those romantics. Full of those one-liners, for those who like a bit of comedy. Basicly, this book changed everything that we look at, the books we read, the movies we watch, it all has something to do with this book! We can all honestly say that Suzanne Collins created a marvel for us all to love, and her history of books was great too (I won't list all the book's she made, she has quite this list)! The Hunger Games, an easy 5 star, is one of the worlds greatest books to come to this Earth!
