Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before - and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Collins delivers equal parts suspense and philosophy, adventure and romance, in this searing novel set in a future with unsettling parallels to our present.

Great story- movie- plot but a pretty predictable ending. Other that that............ THE BOOK WAS AWESOMELY AWESOMELY AMAZINGLY AWESOME+ AMAZZZZZING!!!!!!!!!

I love this book so much!!! I think this book is interesting is because it is like the future of our society. I think this is the future of this world. This book is also soooo sad cause it tells you how the people suffered. I hope this will not happen for real.

Really want this book to read someday.

I love katiness she is a brave person. I would want to be her partner if I were there.

I heard about this book from a friend. I bought it and read it and I thought it was great! Some people say it was too gruesome and gory but personally I didn't think it was too bad. The story is about a girl called Katniss who enters the hunger games to save her twelve year old sister. I think the story is very thought provoking and a great story about good and evil.

this is the best book ive read ever!:O belive me or not its addictive! if u dont belive me then read 4 urself

this book is so awesome i love it but its sad i can not stop reading it to me it will never get old........................................ OKAY ITS GOT OLD!!!! but i still love it SOOOO much!!!!!!!!!

An amazing action-filled adventure story of survival...

I liked this book, but it also made me uncomfortable. Katniss is a strong character and an interesting young woman. I liked Mockingjay less than Hunger games. It seems impossible to me that a society would allow such a barbaric tradition to continue. The story really forces the reader to think about the future and where the line between good and evil really is.
