This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

its okay not one that I want to read every day for the rest of my life... but my favorite part is when Harry talks to that snake and attacks his cousin

i used to think Harry Potter sucked but when i got this for christmas, i fell in LOVE! not with harry, the book

Well, I was never really intrested in Harry Potter until I saw the movie, but I was young and couldn't find any of the books until I arrived in 5th grade. Now, I'm a Harry Potter fanatic and the only way I stop reading is if it is time for dinner, I need to use the bathroom, or if I need to get ready for bed.

AMAZING, well actually its better no words can describe how amazing these books are, its not just the first book, its the entire series that will leave you speechless and will suck you in

This book is what magic is all about, a lot of people say the movie is better, but I think oppisite. I am halfway threw with the entire seris, just finished Goblet of Fire, another magical book.

The first book tells it all; Feel what it's like to fly on a broomstick, J.K. Rowling writes so richly, it makes people feel as if their even there. Discover magic, and find out the secret of The Sorcerers Stone in Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. I would highly recommend this book.

I've read all of the books and i loved the with ALL of my heart. My fave was the 5&6. If you like these you will LOVE the HUNGER GAMES!!!!!!!!!!
