This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

This book is truly remarkable. All of the books in this series are. J.K Rowling has written 7 masterpieces that have taken the world by storm. I would very much recommend this book to anyone ages 10 - possibly 9 - and up. It is very interesting and it's just one of those "you can't put down" books. It has lots of heroic moments and lots of action. You will get attached to all of the characters and feel like you're part of the book. As the series go on they get more violent so, anyone who is easily frightened may not like these book as much as me. Although, they are still wonderful books (and movies).

It is one of the best books!!!! I am Harry Potters number 1 fan!!! I wish the movies where not over!! They are the best!!! anyone who dose not like them is evil!!!!

Probably my favorite set of books. A higher level read, but worth working towards.

this is the best series, aside from school of fear and the hunger games.i thought it was very interesting.before i read this, i thought no way i'll like harry potter, but now i'm sad that it ended.

Harry Potter and the Philosiphers stone is my favourite book in all of the books I have read. It kept me hooked and wanting more. I have even visted the land in Orlando thanks to cooking with Mirinda's butterbeerrecipe said there was a land. This book inspired me to write and yiu must read it

This is, without a doubt, one of my most treasured series for children. I look forward to reading it with my daughter when she is old enough to hear it. All of the Harry Potter books have the gift of transporting you into a fantasy world so magical that you wish it was real.
