THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS!!! (So glad dog added it on the reading list) Harry, a kid who lost his parents when he was a baby, is raised by his aunt and uncle. Little does he know that his parents are wizards and witches. Harry later attends Hogwarts and is chosen into the Gryffindor group and meets Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. This is his first year at Hogwarts, just 6 more to go!

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.
All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.
But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.
For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

It is a really cool book. It made me laugh at some times, feel nervous and just feel excited. I'll definitely reread.
This is a great book! It is about a kid named Harry Potter who's parents were killed and he lives with his aunt and uncle and cousin who mistreat Harry and say that his parents died in a car crash. But when a mysterious letter comes telling Harry about a school for wizards, his aunt and uncle don't let him go-- until a strange man named Hagrid brings him to Hogwarts. But something suspicious is going around at Hogwarts. The forbidden third floor has a three headed dog supposedly hiding something. But what is that something? Harry and his friends suspect that someone or something is attempting to steal it -- whatever it is. They suspect it's Snape, a strange teacher. But distractions are coming -- like trolls in the school, detention, and keeping up with schoolwork. Can Harry and his friends save Hogwarts from being robbed of whatever treasure the three headed dog is guarding? Starting a long and mysterious path, he and his friends are are about to find out.
I love the Harry Potter series! It's full of magic, mystery, and friendship. Harry makes friends with a boy named Ron and a girl named Hermione. Harry and his friends are sent to Hogwarts, a school for wizards. The students take classes like Care for Magical Creatures and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Students play a game called Quidditch where they have to fly on brooms and try to score. Harry has to fight Lord Voldemort (he who must not be named) who killed Harry's parents. Hope you enjoy this series!
I decided to read this book because my friend told me that it was very fun so I want to try.
Incredible. That is the only word I can manage to say after reading this novel. Absolutely incredible. There is definitely no reason in the world why this book is not astonishing. Harry Potter, an orphaned boy living with his cruel uncle and aunt finally finds his true home: Hogwarts. From the moment he stepped onto Platform 9 3/4, his life took a giant change. From that point onward he experienced friendship, power, love, hope and most importantly, magic. Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry. Harry's escape from reality. It's the place where he can truly be himself. It's the place where he makes discoveries around every corner. It's the place. . . that he can really call home. Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone is mind-blowing in every way. You will feel happy, depressed, grief-stricken, but above all, you will feel like anything is possible. Once you begin, the end will just be a new beginning, a beginning of adventure, that is. Harry Potter will bring you to the land of wonders and amazement and magic. It will put you into the book, and keep you there until you realize that it's time to let go. But in truth, you never will. You never will let go of Harry Potter, or Hogwarts, or the magic of it all. It will always be there, never-ending it's wonders. This book must be your next read. Because if you do. . . well, let's just say magic will forever be at your fingertips.
This book was amazing like all off the other Harry Potter books in the series. It is amazing how Harry's boring life turns into an adventure that changes his life.
I read the book its was so freaking awesome
Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone was amazing. It was a great kick-off to the series. The book is an inspiring story about an orphaned boy, living in a loveless home, who finds out that his parents were wizards, and he is too. He then goes off to magic boarding school, where he learns magic and makes friends and enemies. He also learns that his parents were murdered by an evil wizard, and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named tried to kill him when he was a baby. At the school, Harry makes friends, fights trolls, learns how to play the school sport, Quidditch, and uncovers a three-headed dog that guards a secret. But what is he hiding? What is Voldemort up to? This is a marvelous story about family, friendship and finding you belong.
