This book was AMAZING. It is set in futuristic Chicago, where there are five factions; Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). When you turn sixteen, you decide which faction to devote the rest of your life to. This book kind of freaked me out at times. There are definitely some scary parts, such as simulations! This book is set in a futuristic Chicago, after a terrible war that destroyed the world. The city is split into 5 factions: Dauntless, the brave, Erudite, the intelligent, Candor, the honest, Amity, the peaceful, and Abnegation, the selfless. At age 16, everyone will take a test to determine which faction best suits them, but when Beatrice (Tris) Prior, from Abnegation, takes the test, she gets 3 different results. She is Divergent. She must choose between her family and what she wants, and when she does choose, she finds out about a plan to eliminate all the Divergents. This book is awesome, and I recommend it to anybody who likes post apocalyptic books, dystopian fiction, or The Hunger Games.

A terrific read! The characters are compelling, the setting is familiar and unique at the same time, and the plot is mutlifaceted and completely entertaining!

I love love love this book! Beatrice (Tris) has a big decision to make when she turns 16. Though she is currently in Abnegation (selflessness) she may choose to live in Amity (peace) Erudite (brains) Dauntless (bravery) or Candor(honesty) Will she make the right decision, and what will happen next?
Beatrice Prior is 16. She gets to pick where she will be forever. In five factions. Beatrice must see herself in the 5 and go through initiation with different difficulties along the way. Awesome book! It's a definite must read! Cannot wait for the next book! INSURGENT!!
I really liked this book. It was a good book for fans of The Hunger Games. But instead of being born to a faction(or district) you are born to one and have the option to switch when you are 16.
