When Mia asks the Cupcake Club girls to be junior bridesmaids in her mother’s wedding, everyone is superexcited about the idea...especially when they find the perfect dress for the occasion! It’s Emma’s dream dress, except it’s a little more expensive than she expected. And with her mom recently out of work, there’s not a lot of room at the Taylor house for extras. Not wanting to disappoint her friends, Emma decides to take on a few more jobs and chores around the house to help cover the cost. Between babysitting her bratty brother, a dog-walking business, flute practice, the Cupcake Club—and oh yeah, being a typical tween girl—Emma may have bitten off more than she can chew. Can she handle it all?

Cupcaker Mia Velaz-Cruz's mom is getting married! Emma Taylor, fellow Cupcaker, is overjoyed: she's all about light pink and satin and vanilla cake, after all. But that doesn't trump the fact that Emma's family is in a financial pickle. Her mom recently got laid off indefinitely, and now Emma has dog-walking, babysitting, and the Cupcake Club to do to help out and sometimes earn money. So when Emma finds out the selected bridesmaid dress is $250, she's horrified; there's no way she can ask her parents for that kind of money! Emma decides to take matters into her own hands. She doesn't want to tell Mia in fear that she'll kick her out of the wedding, or any of her friends. Despite her efforts, though, her responsibilities begin to overwhelm her. A real tearjerker about families struggling money-wise, this is a beautiful and hearttouching novel for all ages.

I love this book so so much!!!!!!!! I like it because of the creative wording the author used. I think girls will like this book better than boys because it is about a girl and her troubles in her social life. Hope you like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
