This book has a very slow start, no real plot line, and very little character development. This story is boring, cliche, and not a good story at all. This is NOT a book I recommend to any reader.

Twelve-year-old underachiever Rob has better things to do than read. His parents give him lots of books but most of them just end up in the messy pile of junk he keeps locked in his closet that once doubled as a makeshift science laboratory. One day, Rob hears weird sounds coming from behind his closet door and discovers a funny little creature that seems to be a cross between two characters from books he's tried to ignore. He names him Wonkenstein.
Keeping track of "Wonk" is hard work. But with help from friends and a little off-the-wall magic, Rob and Wonkenstein's crazy adventures set the stage for great laughs . . . and Rob might even read some good books along the way.

BUMP! A sound comes from the closet...out pops Wonkenstien. Created by failed science experiments, multitudes of "old" books, and a creepy closet, you'll never guess what this little monster will do next.
Rob Is A 6th Grader Who Hates Books.
Rob is a twelve-year-old boy who hates reading. His parents always give him books, but they usually end up in his giant pile of stuff he crams into his closet. One day, Rob's closet starts making weird sounds and out pops a creature Rob nicknames "Wonkenstein", half Willy Wonka, half Frankenstein. Rob isn't about to tell anyone about "Wonk" so the blame for all of his mishaps is pointed at Rob. Will Rob just be misunderstood for the rest of his life? Or will he be forever changed?
It is about a kid that stuffs random junk into his closet. But the peculiar thing is that the closet's doornob will not open. But the boy is in for a suprise. One day, the closet opens, and a plastic figure comes out. It is a toy, half Frankenstein, half Willy Wonka. So the boy and the toy have many adventures together. But one day, the toy figure says"my time has come" and hands the boy his cane, and returns to the dephts of the closet. He was never seen again.
Rob is 12 years old. His parents keep wanting him to read books so to avoid that, he tries to put the books in a closet. But, it can't keep piling up every day with more and more books. One day, he hears weird sounds coming from the closet, and discovers a Wonkenstein, a creature which is a mix between 2 characters from the books that he threw in his closet. Keeping Wonkenstein is not easy with all the work: He has to make sure that he knows were he is at all times, and has to control him to prevent him from being seen by everybody. But luckily he gets some help from his friends and don't forget, the tiny bit of magic.
A good book about a strange closet, a half- Willy Wonka half- Frankenstein's monster dwarf and a kid's adventure involving these things. I recommend it.
