Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.

The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.

I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.

August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.

"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

August Pullman was born with facial abnormalities and had 27 surgeries since then. His mom home schooled him for his elementary years, so kids wouldn’t make fun of him. But his parents decided to have him start normal school in 5th grade. When he started school everyone made fun of him, and he only had two friends Jack and Summer. He starts the year with his head held down, but it finishes with his head held up. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars because it is a good story and not too sad, but this story does have some violence which I don't like. According to dogobooks.com this book is a 3rd grade through 8th grade reading level. I also think this book teaches some important lessons like, you can't judge a book by its cover, and you can't blend in when you were born to stand out.

"Wonder" this book is a good lesson in life so thank you RJ Palicio the beginning is sad because Augie is being picked on in the middle things are turning out better because he is having a good time with summer and jack. At the end every thing turns out well.

I 💖 this book!!! #LifeChanged😀

"Wonder" is the funny, sweet and incredibly moving story of Auggie Pullman. Born with a terrible facial abnormality, this shy, bright ten-year-old has been home-schooled by his parents for his whole life, in an attempt to protect him from the stares and cruelty of the outside world. Now, for the first time, Auggie is being sent to a real school - and he's dreading it. The thing is, Auggie's just an ordinary kid, with an extraordinary face. But can he convince his new classmates that he's just like them, underneath it all? Through the voices of Auggie, his big sister Via, and his new friends Jack and Summer, "Wonder" follows Auggie's journey through his first year at Beecher Prep. Frank, powerful, warm and often heart-breaking, "Wonder" is a book you'll read in one sitting, pass on to others, and remember long after the final page.

I absolutely LOVED and I mean LOVED this book bunnygirl888 is right. NEVER judge a book by its cover. Judge it by what you read on the back of the book.

This book I thought it would be boring but don’t judge a book by its cover This is about an extraordinary boy and is first day at school

I love this book because it’s true and you shouldn’t bully just because they’re ugly they could have a disease or been in a fire or somthing worse if you bully them your rude cause if they are still there they are awesome cause they survived or is surviving.

Wonder is an incredible book. It is a beautiful and heartwrenching tale about a young boy who has a terrible facial abnormality. The story follows him as he struggles to accept his situation and the negativity he faces just because he is different. Palacio uses humor and grief to move us and teach us important lessons that we won't easily forget. It is a truly remarkable story.
