Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.
The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.
I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.
August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.
"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

it is one of the best book ive ever read. i totally reccomend this book. it has a lesson to it to. i do not want to say what the lesson is you have to get to find out. (:
This is a really great book we read this book is sixth grade yesterday. People shouldn't judge kids by how they look. But his parents didn't want him to go to school because they knew he would be made fun of and will get teased of how he looks
This book is amazing. You should never judge somebody by their face or what they do. In this book August goes through a lot. When August first started school the other kids would be mean to him. In the middle of the book August gets some friends. In the end of the book August has friends who don't care about what he looks like or what he dose and they appreciate him for who he is.
don't judge a boy bye his face!! August says
The is a amazing book!! It has taught me that even if people have disabilities they are like others. I think that Agguie overcomes a lot of problems during middle school. In the end Auggie has friends and people at his school don't care what he looks like they just appreciate his inside not the out. ~Olivia
I really liked this book. I read it with my class. It is very realistic and can happen to anybody, even if you are not like Augie. It is page-turning and always kept me wanting to read more.
I love this book. It is about a kid who has a weird face and he feels insecure and he started to start a new school and in the end he figures out he is like everybody else.
This book is amazing. It is so touching and very well written
Awesome book. This guy named Auggie with a deformed face(I don't mean to sound rude) overcomes so many things coming in to middle school-from conquering bullies to making friends that can overlook the features of his face. Auggie grows up so much that he leaves his family ffor a while to go on a trip with his classmates. He survives the trip, but leaves with a couple of scrapes and bruises.
Great review!!
