Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.

The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.

I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.

August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.

"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

This book is very good. I like that you can see how the other people feel about August. It is exiting.

I absolutely love this book and I have no idea why I put off reading it for so long. It's so sad and heartwarming and touching and clearly conveys a message to the reader: the outer appearance of someone doesn't matter, what matters is on the inside. What's best about the book is that the characters are all so feasible and relatable so that the readers can relate. For example, August is very afraid and insecure about his abnormal appearance, and he sometimes lets that affect him and drag him down, which is what people do in real life. If August fought back immediately, it wouldn't be logical if we looked at his earlier actions and dialogue that showed his personality. The author made the plot go along with the characters and I really loved this book, it made me think over the true definition of heroes, because Auggie is definitely a hero in this book.

Agui must feel bad in this book

I am reading this book in class! LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!

This book is sooo powerful in it's story. I would recommend this to everyone!! This is such a great book and puts August Pullman's whole life together. R.J Palacio did a great job putting sooo much power and emotion into this book. It's truly a powerful and wonderful book for people to read of all ages.

Such a heart-warming and sad book. R.J Palacio did a very good job of putting the perspectives of different character throughout the book. August is so brave and didn't let what he look bother him in the end. He felt more confident and wasn't always looking down at other people's shoes anymore. Auggie (August) was so brave, I had some joyful tears in the end after I finished reading the book.
