Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.
The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.
I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.
August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.
"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

This is a beautifully written book. It is inspiring, heartbreaking and absolutely perfect. Wonder (I'm not lying) brought tears to my eyes. Its message is "Never judge people by their looks" It doesn't matter the way you look on the outside. What is inside is what matters.
Wonder is a book about not judging people by their looks. This boy Auggie has his facial problems. When he goes to school the principal chose students to be nice to him. He soon figures out. People do the Auggie touch even. Soon he makes a real friend named Summer which is not told by the principal to be his friend. This story is told by different points of views. I give this book a million stars out of five. It will capture your heart. I really think you should go to you local library or buy this book to read it! I hope you enjoy it.
Wonder is a book about a ten year old boy named august who has a deformed face. Auggie has never gone to school before because his over protective parents don't want him to get bullied. But when he’s 10 his parents feel it's the right time for him to begin school. A few is days before school starts his parents bring him to his new school to meet his principle and some of his soon to be fellow peers. Auggie is really worried about what they will think of him and if they will bully him. When he goes to his school he meets his principal mr. tushman and summer, jason, and Jack. bright friendly summer is quick to befriend auggie. Jason is not so nice to Auggie unfortunately and Jack is unsure. School turns out to be not bad but not good. Everyone mostly ignore him except for summer. She quickly becomes his friend. Jason is still being mean to him and he starts sending him mean notes. Jack realizes what his so called friend is doing and turns to Auggie’s side. Jack and Auggie become close friends. One day when Jason’s bullying gets to its worse jack punches him in the face jason's parents try to get jack suspended but because of the cause that jack punched him jack is not suspended and he and auggie become even closer This book is a longer read with 315 pages and they all have lots of words. Wonder is an amazing story that has a great message and i absolutely love it. FIVE STARS It has also been made into a movie that just recently came out. Wonder is written in a very interesting way. It has the same story being told from each main character's point of view for example, Auggie’s sister Via who is in high school has her own part in the book. I love it so much and please please please read it because it is a story that definitely needs to be shared. I don't know if it is based on a true story but that would be amazing if it was.
LOVE IT
i think it is funny
Last year, in grade 4, I never really understood the quote, or the concept (as my mom calls it), beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but when I read this it not only help me understand that but it also helped me understand that we judge people too much by their looks and not by personality. If I were in Auggie's shoes I wouldn't know how to deal with it. Wonder explores how a middle grade student survives having a deformed face while surviving school as well. This is my favorite book of all time and I recommend this to those who are victims of bullies and for those who just need an inspiring book
Good job
