Don’t miss the breathtaking true story of the international rescue of the Wild Boars soccer team from a flooded cave in Thailand!

One afternoon, eleven-year-old Titan, his friends from the Wild Boars soccer team, and their coach rode their bikes to explore local caves. They crawled through the narrow tunnels in the dark to reach the center of the cave. When they turned to go home, heavy rains had flooded the tunnel. They were trapped!

With rising waters and monsoon season upon them, time and oxygen were running out. The world watched with bated breath as rescuers from around the globe joined forces to try to free the boys. After eighteen harrowing days, in an unprecedented effort of international teamwork, they were finally saved.

Award-winning author Susan Hood and journalist Pathana Sornhiran based this picture book on Sornhiran’s first-hand reporting of the event, and Dow Phumiruk’s beautiful illustrations bring the story to life. The book also includes a timeline and back matter with additional resources.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” The world and the news were on fire. You were probably alive when this happened. Titan and the Wild Boars (The True Cave Rescue Of The Thai Soccer Team.) Written by Susan Hood and Pathana Sornhiran, illustrated by Dow Phumiruk. Published in 2019. Titan and the Wild Boars is dramatic, fun, outstanding, and very well written. Titan and the Wild Boars is about a Thai soccer team getting stuck in a cave. After practice the team decides to go exploring in a cave. They have already explored the cave before, so they thought it was safe (bad idea.) It started to rain, A LOT and the cave was flooded with rainwater, which was NOT good. They were stuck for 18 days! Through some deaths and tears...the boys and coach made it out alive. After the cave incident, the team went to the hospital. They were given food and water. I mean, 18 days without FOOD, I can’t even go 1 minute!!!!! Some water was clean and dripped down from the ceiling, and that’s what they drank! But through all of that… they are still alive. My favorite part of this story is all the heroes, but I have more. I like the heroes because they risk their lives for 19 people! One person even DIED for them. All of them tried so hard to try to find and rescue the team. When divers found them the world rejoiced! NEWS: They found the boys! We do not need to panic! Thank you for the Navy, and more for trying to find them! Then the worst part of the story happened…(But you have to wait) The illustrations were amazing! Also props to the authors of the story. If you are in upper elementary school, middle school or for an easy read in high school, there is a book called Rising Water. This book gives you more information about the story. (GET A TISSUE FOR THIS PARAGRAPH) The most memorable part of this story is Saman Kunan, because...he...died. (I know it’s HARSH) You see Saman was a Navy SEAL diver and volunteer. He was going looking for the team. With his partner. Let me remind you that it’s pitch black in the cave. Close your eyes for a second...that’s basically how dark it was. Even their lights barely helped! So if you lost something, you LOST IT. Well Saman didn’t lose a sandwich he… lost…his...life. I KNOW IT’S HARSH. You see he was looking for the boys with his partner, and his mouthpiece fell off. His partner tried to help, but he fell unconscious. Before he fell unconscious, he and his partner tried to find the mouthpiece. But… it was lost, he died at around, one am, on Friday, July 6, 2018. This was the first time the world stopped spinning. Not actually. But, it did feel like it. After the boys were rescued Titan’s relatives made a picture of Saman. So there you have it ladies and gentlemen. Make sure to pray for Saman Kunan. For we all shall meet in Heaven. Titan And The Wild Boars is fun, sad, jeerful, and very well written. I recommend this book to lighthearted people because to read this book you need to not get sad easily. I DO NOT recommend this book to people who can’t take sad things because as you know someone does die. Also if you get scared easily DO NOT read this book! Don’t forget that, 1. There is another book for upper elementary school st, middle school, and high school students, and 2. You were probably alive when this happened. HOPE YOU ENJOYED!!!

In Titan and the Wild Boars. The Book was written in 2019 Goal!!Titan scored!! ‘’ ernt’’ ‘’ernt’’ Titan scored and the horn went off. In this book it keeps me on my toes and it’s kind of sad.I recommend this book to my mom and dad because it is a really good book that I think they would like. The author written by Susan Hood and Pathana Sornhiran,Illustrated by Dow Pumiruk.Titan wanted to explore the cave with his friends. Then when they entered the cave it started to pour rain. The rain water started to get deeper and deeper. All of their parents called and said that their kids were missing. They were trapped in the cave for 18 days. I liked how the NAVY SEALS got ready to go into the cave and also when the NAVY SEALS found the kids.I really enjoyed the picture at the beginning because it showed Titan playing soccer.I also liked when the kids got out of the cave. The most memorable part was when the NAVY SEALS went into the cave to go save the Thai soccer team.I felt nervous when reading this book.Especially when the boys were hungry and thirsty and got weaker each day.The team was stuck for 18 days. When two divers found them they gave them, medican, drinks and blankets. They meditated and played games with rocks.Once they were rescued there families cried with joy. Many people called the rescue mission impossible but it was mission accomplished.

This author did an amazing job of writing this book. This book is a cave on top. It was for exercise for their tournament. They got trapped by the high level of water. In the end, an army man died trying to save the team. My most favorite part of the story is when the soldier trying to save the team .the team was biking up the mountain. Then they explored the cave. Then they got trapped and the scuba diver went to save the team. Then an army soldier came to their rescue. There was a conference about the team. Some boys and girls and boys were making paper cranes. When they were in the hospital and their parent came. THE most memorable part is when they got out of the cave and it was so great. Then they were in the hospital and their parents came. When the boys and girls were making paper cranes. When they had a conference about the team. This book is a little bit sad and a little bit happy. The author did an amazing job of writing this book. I would recommend this book to the poor homeless people. “Ping!” The rain hit against the rocky roof. The title of this book is Titan and the Wild Boars. The author is Susan Hood and Pathana Sornhiran and this book is illustrated by Dow Phumiruk. This book is exciting and interesting because there are lots of thrilling events you would not want to miss that keep you on the edge of your seat. First, Titan, a twelve year old boy who plays on the Wild Boars soccer team attends practice on Saturday June 28th. He was planning to explore a cave with his friends but it is during the monsoon season which is a time where you should not explore caves because of the danger due to flooding. Next, Titan and his friends from soccer, except one kid because he did not have permission, explore the cave in their homeland of Thailand. Then, the soccer team gets trapped in the cave by water flooding which causes rocks to fall in front of the entrance. After a tragedy occurs, Saman Kunan dies around 1 am on the first Friday of July 2018. Finally on the 18th day being stuck in the cave Titan and 4 other people escape. While they are in the hospital, the others are in the cave still thinking of what had happened the last 16 or 17 days dreaming of when they could get out. They are finally rescued by Navy S.E.A.L.s and all reunited together in the hospital. The part I liked most about the book is when the lost, worried divers find the weak, hungry boys in the cave on day 10 of the crisis. I like this part because throughout the entire timeline of events this scene would give relief to the scared people outside saying prayers to God hoping that the soccer team is safe in the dark cave. In the end I would have two favorites- the part when the soccer team escapes the horrors of the dark cave or when the sad family of Saman Kunan and the healed soccer team gathers from the loss of Saman Kunan, a humble Navy S.E.A.L. who lost his life on his effort to save the weak and collapsed soccer team. The part I think would be the best is when the team escapes the dark and scary cave because of this the sad funeral never would have been the same because the Wild Boars team were the only people at the funeral besides the Kunan family. This book is interesting and exciting because the book has a roller coaster of events that would keep you on your toes. I recommend this book to the adventurous because this book is full of adventures from soccer to caves. This is a book that the adventurous would love. I would recommend this book to anyone because this book would gather in the happy and sad, from death to escapes this book is full of emotions.
