I liked that this book was about a mermaid. She also has a giant shrimp for a pet and that is funny. I liked all the characters but the story seemed a little long and I got bored.

This book is very nice.It is about a girl named Cora who has to do a spelling test and fails and struggles to fix her problem. This book was very good but very easy for me. However, it is very good for 2nd-3rd graders.
This book is great for a younger audience! It is about a young mermaid named Cora who gets kicked off the swim team because of a bad grade. She goes through a journey to get that grade up. I love how the book is in a diary format. It really shows Coras personality. I really recommend this book because it was exciting to read and the pictures were really cute!
I LOVED reading this book! I read it last year over the summer and I loved how the book was like a diary. It showed marked out words and really expressed who Cora, the main character is. The book is about a young mermaid who gets kicked off the swim team because she got a bad grade in spelling. Cora goes on a journey to try to get her grade up. It is a great book for an audience in elementary school.
This book is about a mermaid named Cora who is having trouble in school. She wants to be on a swim team but then fails a spelling test and gets kicked off the team. This book was very easy for me because I finished it in two days but it is still a very good book for 2nd-3rd kids but for me it was just too easy.
Cora is a mermaid in third grade. She has an A+ in Swimming, Singing, and Splashing. However, this year there is another subject: Spelling (which she has a fish in...minus the ish). Because of this, she is kicked off the swim team unless she can get a better grade. Her mom gets her a diary and puts her under a spell to write in it everyday. She talks to her friends what to do, and they tell her to study. Also, Cora finds a shrimp stuck under a barrel of toxic waste. She frees it, but now it has grown to weigh a ton and a half. Read the book to also find out about her encounter with the Singing Sirens. This book was nice. Though it was to easy for me to read, I still found it interesting. I would recommend this book to 2nd graders to 3rd graders and up. It reminded me of a younger version of Dork Diaries or Diary of a Wimpy Kid. This is a great read for younger kids!
This book is about a mermaid named Cora. She has trouble spelling, and got an F on her report card in spelling, leading to her getting kicked off the swim team unless she starts raising her spelling grades. I love how in the book the author marked out some works because she misspelled them, which really shows that this book was in diary character even though this is fiction. Her mom had put a spell on her. The diary she gave her (she thought it would help with her spelling) was enchanted. Since she willingly put a pen to paper, she is now compelled to write in it. I think this book was funny, and I recommend it to 3rd graders. I rate this book 4/5.
This book is about a mermaid named Cora who wants to be in the most popular swim team in the sea- The Singing Sirens. Since she failed her spelling test, the coach says she can't join until she gets an A on the next one, or else her spot will go to a obnoxious mermaid named Vivian Shimmermore. Her sistes are celebraties ! Her mom gifts her a diary and Cora thinks she is under a "spell"! But all she really needs is to learn how to spell! Will Cora be able to pass her spelling test, become a Singing Siren, and stay true to herself al at the same time???
This book was pretty ok to me. It is about this mermaid. She gets her report card and she gets A's in everything except spelling. She is going to join this famous swim team. The couch kicks her out because she didn't get a good grade in spelling( she got an F). She has this pet named Salty. Also her mother gives her a diary. To get back on the swim team, she has to get a good grade on her next spelling test. She has to study for the test. The conflict is that she doesn't want to study. Also it takes her a long time to memorize the spelling for the words. Later she meets a group that she loves to watch. The girl that is mean to her is her favorite group's sibling. She surprisingly invites her to her party. Later they go on a field trip and discover her secret. At the end she makes the spot she wants but doesn't take it. I thought this book was ok. It wasn't really fascinating. Event though this book wasn't the best, you should still try the book and see if you like it. I rate this book three stars.
I think this book was very interesting to read. However the problem I have is that it is to young for me. I am older but if I was in third grade I would totally love it.
