Let me just say that I love the way that the author has written a book about her life experiences. I think this book was written to boost confidence and be proud of who you are. It's like, who cares that you have braces? It's all about how YOU think of your braces. It's all about the way YOU decide to be you. Be who you are, and never let anything lower your way of thinking that. Focus on the positive things in life, not the negative things! You are who you choose to be. If you want to be an artist, than let nothing stop you from achieving that dream. If you want to be a baker, than let no one stand in your way of becoming a baker. Let no one, I repeat, NO ONE bring you down about what you choose in life. If you like something, go for it!

Raina just wants to be a normal sixth grader. But one night after Girl Scouts she trips and falls, severely injuring her two front teeth. What follows is a long and frustrating journey with on-again, off-again braces, surgery, embarrassing headgear, and even a retainer with fake teeth attached. And on top of all that, there's still more to deal with: a major earthquake, boy confusion, and friends who turn out to be not so friendly.

This book is a small moment from the authors childhood. It's about a girl named Raina and she is dealing with braces, retainers, boyfriends, and bullies. Read it!!!
Have you ever wondered hair it was like if you ever knocked out your two front teeth? Then you may want to check out the book Smile by Raina Telgemeier. It is a realistic book and I with overall rate it five stars. The book starts off with the main character Raina knocking out her two front teeth and has to go through different orthodontist doctors. And takes through an adventure of feelings and friendships. All of this takes place in San Fransisco, California. In the book it states " It's okay, Honey... It's gonna be okay. My teeth!!! My tooth!!... We've got one tooth... Anybody find the other?" This shows how Raina shows how she knocked her two front teeth. Some background information about the author is from San Fransisco, California. She has written other booms like Sisters ,Drama and The Baby Sisters Club Book. The type of reader that would enjoy the book is someone who likes graphic novels and realistic fiction books.
I LOVE Smile! In my opinion, Raina should have all of her books turned into movies!!
I like the added pictures. And yes it's a very good for people going/in middle school and sisters is a little bit better but not by much👨👩👧👧👶
this book is about a 7th grade girl named raina and she goes through a lot during her year later on in the book she goes to high school and ends up making new friend because her old friends did not really treat her well. I am pretty sure everyone should be treated the same exact way if I were raina I would not really want to have friends like them and trust me you guys will really enjoy this book.
