Raina Telgemeier's #1 New York Times bestselling, Eisner Award-winning graphic memoir based on her childhood!

Raina just wants to be a normal sixth grader. But one night after Girl Scouts she trips and falls, severely injuring her two front teeth. What follows is a long and frustrating journey with on-again, off-again braces, surgery, embarrassing headgear, and even a retainer with fake teeth attached. And on top of all that, there's still more to deal with: a major earthquake, boy confusion, and friends who turn out to be not so friendly.

person2 person2

In the book Smile,Raina is a girl that has to get braces. When she was getting home from girl scouts she tripped and fell injuring her two front teeth. She has braces from 6th grade into high school. She has to do a lot of things to make her teeth better. Surgery, headgear and a retainer that has fake teeth to fill in her missing ones. I liked this book because after all the work she has been through with her teeth it works out in the end. Reading level: 3 grade up. Who should read it: girls 9-11
