Cute Cute

I think I will definitely read this book, because of your great comments. But you guys say "BAKU", what does that mean?

I've watched an animated movie about the future on something exactly like this. 7th grader Lacy Chu dreams of becoming a companier for Moncha, a company that created Baku a robotic animal pet that everyone loves and has. Lacy tried to get into Profectus but she was declined, which made her very upset. One day she went down to a ravine looking for her friend's Baku who had fallen in. She finds something cool taking apart the Baku trying to fix it but, you have to find that out yourself. Soon after, she gets an email saying she was excepted into Profectus! What she found was really interesting, but she decided to take it to the next level. Lacy tries to keep what she created a secret at Profectus, but it's not as simple as it seems. My connection to this book is I love to create random things with the weirdest supplies which is what definitely went on in this book.

Jinxed is such an amazing book. It follows the life of Lacey Chu, our main character. Lacey always wanted to get into this elite, prestigious academy so that she can be a worker for MONCHA the biggest tech firm in the world for bakes which are customizable pets with all the capabilities of a smartphone. After being rejected from the school promising her future, she stumbles upon a highly advanced cat shaped baku. After repairing it, she calls it Jinx and it helps her get into her dream school. Soon after becoming accustomed to school life, she finds out the dangerous secret behind Jinx, which forces her to choose between her baku and her future.

Really cool and really very good

In the small town of "Monchaville" where the MONCHA HQ is, bakus are the thing and Profectus Academy is the school. 7th grader Lacy Chu, dreams of becoming a companioneer for Moncha, the company that created the baku, a robotic animal pet that is well known, but when her acceptance to Profectus is turned down, she is wrecked. One day, when she is down in a ravine looking for her friend's baku, who had fallen in, she finds a pile of metal which she figures she can use for spare parts to aide her tinkering hobby. But later, when she is starting to take it apart she makes an amazing discovery, a face. And to her surprise, later she gets a email accepting her into Profectus. As she starts to fix her metal face findings, she fixes it back into a high level cat baku. Life at Profectus is crazy, especially with a definitely not obedient cat baku she names Jinx and getting picked for a baku battle team. This is a must read book, and I just had to get past a little slowish part in the beginning and then I was hooked (same thing with a small part in the second half)! Recomendend for anyone who love STEM, Technology, battling, and mystery.

I like the summary, but what is a baku, if I may ask?

A baku is basically a robotic pet, but can be any animal.
