I like this book, Chomp, but, I'm not sure that I like the kind of genre, but if you like fiction a lot, then this book is for you!!

i loved this book. it was really entertaining and it told the behind the scenes look at some of our nature shows. i would really recommend this to people who like animals and would like to help save them along with all the other hiaasen books.

This was Carl Hiaasen's 4th Eco themed book. I read all the previous books except Scat. I loved this book. This book is just as hilarious and funny as all the other books. I didn't like the part when Wahoo's father is shot in the but he tells his son to lie to his mom and tell her that the animals got to it. I think that we should promote honesty and not lie. Overall, the story was entertaining and I think that younger readers will laugh and enjoy themselves.
Chomp is about Wahoo, whose father is animal wrangler. His father signs up for "Expedition Survival!", a TV show about a man named Derek Badger, who supposedly "survives in the wild". The thing is, it's all faked, but he wants to use real wild animals. When Derek goes missing, the show is temporarily on hold and it's up to Wahoo and his dad to find him. I DEFINITELY recommend this book, but beware because there is some cursing involved. Carl Hiaasen is one of the best authors ever!

this was a great book about a TV star lost in the ever glades he takes on alligators , snakes and more i loved it a lot a also read hoot its about some kids saving burrowing owls from a pancake house but i liked chomp better
Fun -- for a bit (there's a chomp joke in there somewhere). Hiaasen hits the right notes humor-wise in this Steve Irwinesque takeoff of a prima donna phoney Aussie hosting a reality wildlife survival show. His name is Derek Badger and he isn't the best thing about this novel by any means. Unfortunately, just when you think he's as bad as it gets, ANOTHER caricature (um, CHARACTER, I mean... I think) snatches defeat from the gator jaws of infamy by taking his place.

But when Derek really gets lost in the wilderness, the shows crew stuggles to find him. Things get worse when Tuna, Wahoo's friend, has a dad that beats her and comes to get her from the wilderness. And the dad has a GUN. Read Chomp. It's an awesome book with a twist at every corner...
