Love, death, dreams, passion, miracle, hope, fear, and fighting are all in this as Princess Buttercup fell for a farm boy, Westley but since he told her that he would go away on the ship overseas and "died". Ever since Westley's "death" had affected Buttercup harder than expected as she made a vow to never love again and she did. A prince, who have to get married, Humperdinck but the princess didn't like that prince. Then we would meet 3 legendary characters, Inigo Montoya and Fezzik who teamed up to try and rescue the princess along with Westley. Vizzini, a criminal who wants to kidnap and kill the princess. Inigo, who had the father, Domingo killed by six-fingered man set out to try and kill that guy with his ironic statement, "My name is Inigo Montoya. You've killed my father, prepare to die" which Inigo did indeed win that fight of fencing. I REALLY loved this book and movie but I now like this book since this has "additional scenes" and different perspectives. I would recommend this classic to literally everyone! - Happy Reading!

The Princess Bride by William Goldman is a comedic Fantasy book. In this story Buttercup fell in love with Westly. Westly dies and she vows to never love again. Prince Humperdink asks Buttercup to marry him. She tells him she will not love him and they get engaged. Shortly after Princess Buttercup gets kidnapped. Westly (her dead love) saves her. Reluctantly, she turns Westly in and continues as Princess. Westly and the Princess’s kidnappers crash the wedding and take the Princess with them. This book is an excellent example of true love, royalty, honor, revenge and happiness. I thought this book was a well made light hearted story which can be enjoyed by all. The story line was cute and fun as well. William Goldman the abridger of the story made comments throughout the book that were very enjoyable because of the humor and sarcasm they brought. I rate this book a 5 star. This book would be most enjoyed by older readers because of the length of the story, but plot wise it is appropriate for all ages.
My Mom has a love for this book. I love this book too. Love Is Strong.
I have read this book a million time. I love the book and the movie
I am reading this write now. It is kind of hard to reading meaning that I have a hard time reading huge sections at a time. It is pretty much the same as the movie, but there is some "extra content" that is pretty cool!
Loved this book very silly and fun!
Shortly after watching the movie and LOVING it, I got the book. And I ended up loving it even more than the movie. (The movie basically took the book and chopped all the scenes and moments in half.) The Princess Bride gives so much detail, and beauty, and descriptions and you can see everything in your mind. It is a tale of "fencing, fighting, torture, poison, true love, hate, revenge, giants, hunters, bad men, good men, beautifulest ladies, snakes, spiders, beasts of all natures and descriptions, pain, death, brave men, coward men, strongest men, chases, escapes, lies, truths, passion, and miracles." (If you read that whole paragraph I commend you.) You get to sympathize with everyone (except Prince Humperdinck, Vizzini, and Count Rugen) going from Buttercup to Westley to Inigo to Fezzik and every one of them has a story that is no less than heartbreaking, thrilling, beautiful, or painful. This book is proof that old books are just as good stories as any modern book, and you NEED to read this if you ever crave adventure, true love, or if you just need a book that you will read and re-read over and over!
I personally loved this book! Especially Inigo Montoya (a character in this book). The Princess Bride is funny and has great detail and I really enjoyed reading it and I recommend it.
I started this book not very long ago but so far it is really good. It has good descriptions and is really funny. I watched the movie first and then I learned that there was a book and I wanted to read it. 😊
It looks good.
