Ever since US first lady Michelle Obama has come to the White House, she has been focused on how to make American kids healthier. Her 'Let's Move' campaign launched in 2010 to promote physical fitness and encourage healthy eating in children is responsible for countless organic gardens and several fun organized activities. On October 11th, she took her message to a global level, by asking kids from all over the world to participate in the fun activity of jumping jacks!
Organized in conjunction with the National Geographic Magazine, the first lady asked kids everywhere to do jumping jacks for one minute anytime within a 24-hour period that began at 3pm on October 11th. To jump start the event, the First Lady invited 464 elementary and middle school students to join her at the White House for a full minute of rigorous jumping jacks!
While they did a fine job, kids from all across the nation and world didn't disappoint either - A total of 300,265 of them participated, shattering the previous record of 20,000! Now all they have to do, is keep moving!
