For those of us who have a hard time concentrating on a single game of chess, even the idea of playing against 523 players seems unfathomable. However, Israeli chess grandmaster, Alik Gershon made it seem like a piece of cake, as he shifted from board to board, making his moves almost instantly.
What's even more amazing is that the 30-year old who played for 19 straight hours, won 454 or 86% of the games, drew 58 and lost only 11. The result not only earned him the Guinness Book of Records title for the most games played, but also, for the most games won. The previous title was held by Iran's Morteza Mahjoob, who won 397 of the 500 games (about 80%) he played in Tehran, last year. Pretty cool!
